Late-Night Snacking At Tutti Fritti (Milan Center)
Milan has a vivid nightlife scene which is not uncommon to take place in the streets or at public places during warm summer nights. People gather at one of the city’s popular open-air hotspots to socialize or have a drink. Tutti Fritti is just located near Colonne di San Lorenzo, a trendy place to spend a nice evening with friends. Entirely dedicated to deep-fried food, as the name already reveals, this nice little food&beer venue provides party people and night owls with snacks and drinks that they can take to the piazza or simply enjoy at one of their few tables inside.
The menu offers anything ranging from various meats to different kinds of seafoods such as anchovies, squid, fish, and prawns, simply potato fries or other seasonal veggies such as zucchini blossoms or artichokes at reasonable prices. Try the baby calamari, they’re really delicious…crispy and tender. Also check the daily offer!
What’s also special about this place is the fact that, besides wine and other drinks, you can choose from a huge selection of craft beer (I counted 12 taps, there might be more), and the friendly staff is happy to help you with your choice and introduce you to the different types of beer. One thing you should note is that they are served in a plastic cup, but this is probably due to the fact that most people take their drinks outside. So if you don’t mind, don’t let this put you off! This is the best quality fast-food snack you can get, not only in the middle of the night (until 3-4 am, open end during summer), they’re open daytime as well. What’s better than sitting outside with a cool beer and a late-night snack in your hand?
I loved the fact that all dishes were freshly prepared, dipped into batter and fried the moment you order! I suggest ordering many different dishes to share with your friends and have them tapa-style. Though this might not be a gourmet temple, I’d still recommend it to you, especially if you are looking for a good snack or bar food. The atmosphere, the food and the beer are great and the location in the heart of Milan makes it a hip and fun place to be.
